The sculpture of wine glasses was installed on the viewing platform in Marezigah in April 2022. It was created over the course of about a year as part of a project carried out by the House of New Technologies, led by Mr. Miro Rozman.

However, the unique project dates back to 2019, when it was just a university seminar project.

The idea for the sculpture of wine glasses was conceived during a startup weekend hosted by the University of Primorska, Faculty of Tourism Studies - Turistica. The event took place in October 2019 as part of the activities of the RR program "UP FTŠ sTOUdio Turistica." The mission of the program is to promote student collaboration on development projects with a focus on analytics, consulting, innovation, and practical work in the economy, through which they develop competencies under the supervision of experts from practice and pedagogical and research collaborators.

The idea was initially developed by students of UP FTŠ Turistica, including Ajda Medvešček, Marcel Višner, and Jaka Godejša, who further developed it during the 2019/20 academic year under the guidance of numerous experts. The sculpture of two wine glasses takes into account the local identity of the place and addresses the winemakers of Slovenian Istria, who year after year produce excellent wine, primarily of the Refosco and Malvasia varieties, which is reflected in the color of the glasses, which glow at night in characteristic red and yellow light.

The students wanted to create a gathering spot where you can also enjoy the fruits of the winemakers' year-round work with the most beautiful view in Slovenian Istria.
